My research group studies the properties of galaxies and intergalactic matter in the early universe. We use a variety of techniques, but focus primarily on optical / infrared spectroscopy using large ground based observatories including the 6.5 meter Magellan Telescopes at Las Campanas, Chile.

My group also specializes in the development and construction of astronomical instrumentation for large telescopes.

I am usually open to adding new students to our team at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.  If you are interested in joining us, please follow the “Contact” link to set up an appointment when we can discuss in more detail.
